Huawei presented a professional trunked product offering based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology for mission-critical communications and other users. A new version of Huawei’s Trunked - Trustar, a CDMA 1X/EV-DO technology for 3G operators, the LTE-based technology is a broadband multimedia system for digital trunking communications. In addition to standard services, Huawei presented streaming video with LTE radios equipped with a camera and a fast data transmission. Of particular interest to visitors was a compact version of eLTE in two suitcases. Though small, the product consists of an evolved packet care (EPC) and the radio module.
The Trustar 3G version uses the frequency bands 410 – 470 MHz and 806 – 890 MHz, and the eLTE version also supports frequencies in the ranges of 1.447 – 1.467 and 1.755 – 1.92 GHz. The company plans to support the 336 – 500, 806 – 824 and 851 – 869 MHz bands in the future.
Huawei officials said Trustar and eLTE is an ideal solution for various industries, such as energy, mining, oil, police, emergency and crisis management, the transport sector and the construction industry. eLTE trunking provides latency ranging from 100 to 200 milliseconds.
