Rappaport to Keynote Enterprise Wireless 2012 (7/10/12)
The Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) announced that Ted Rappaport will be the Oct. 11 keynote speaker at the Enterprise Wireless 2012 Leadership Summit in Nashville, Tenn.
The keynote themes will focus on two key questions: “How do we engage and inspire the next generation of wireless leaders and what technologies will drive the wireless industry of the future?” Rappaport founded and sold two radio technology companies, has written 18 books on wireless, published 200 technical papers, holds more than 100 U.S. and international patents, founded two of the world’s largest academic wireless research centers, has served on the Technological Advisory Council for the FCC, is an Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) fellow and has won numerous awards for his contributions to wireless communications.
Rappaport is the David Lee/Ernst Weber professor of electrical engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, is a professor of computer science at New York University’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and is a professor of radiology at the New York University School of Medicine. He is also the director of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Wireless Internet Center for Advanced Technology (WICAT), a multidisciplinary research center that involves five universities.
