FCC Dismisses 2 UHF T-Band Narrowbanding Waiver Requests (8/10/12)
The FCC rendered moot several waiver requests by UHF T-band licensees for narrowbanding extensions. In April, the FCC waived the Jan. 1, 2013, deadline for private land mobile radio (PLMR) licensees in the 470 – 512 MHz band to migrate to narrowband technology.
Therefore, the FCC said the waiver requests for narrowbanding delays filed by the Maryland Department of Transportation on March 8 and Ocean County, N.J., on Dec. 22, 2011, are dismissed as moot.
