Motorola Solutions is launching PartnerEmpower's Service Specialization Jan. 20 to replace the current Service Partner Program for channel partners.

The Service Specialization recognizes competency in delivering services such as onsite infrastructure response, preventative maintenance, system installation and device installation. Through the Service Specialization, Motorola Solutions rewards channel partners through additional high-value, service-focused program benefits, the opportunity to move to a higher program level within PartnerEmpower, and greater opportunities for collaboration with Motorola Solutions on services opportunities, a company letter said.

The PartnerEmpower program is designed to provide a strong return on the investment made in building and maintaining a relationship with Motorola Solutions. One of the core elements of PartnerEmpower is specialization, which enables Motorola Solutions to recognize channel partners for their expertise, the letter said.

Motorola said a current Motorola Solutions Authorized Master Service Provider Agreement will terminate Jan. 2 under the new program. “On this date, your company's status as a member of the Service Partner Program will end,” said the letter, signed by Tony Marshall, vice president of the Americas Region Services for Motorola Solutions. “You will no longer be authorized to represent yourself as an Motorola Service Partner (MSP) or Premier Service Partner (PSP), and you will no longer be authorized to use any MSP or PSP logos. You will be able to continue your relationship with Motorola Solutions as a service partner by becoming a PartnerEmpower Service Specialist or Service Elite Specialist by Jan. 20.”

In conjunction with the launch of the Service Specialization, warranty repair centers will no longer exist as a service partner type in the service program. Motorola Solutions will add a "warranty drop-off" benefit to the professional and commercial radio technology segment of the PartnerEmpower Program in 2014. As part of this benefit, the current process for claim redemption will remain the same.
