CalAmp's Dataradio operating unit signed a contract with Michigan's Genesee County E-9-1-1 Consortium to replace the consortium's existing mobile-data public-safety network for first responders. The $1.3 million contract will provide mobile data to 28 police departments and 22 fire departments in Genesee County. Work on the project is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2007, with system acceptance scheduled for December 2007. The consortium is comprised of Genesee County and all of the municipalities served by the 9-1-1 system.
