Micronetics subsidiary Stealth Microwave was awarded a $2.5 million order from IPWireless for high-power amplifiers on the UMTS platform. IPWireless is planning to incorporate the amplifiers as part of the public-safety wireless broadband network it is installing in New York City. "This broadband application demands performance from the amplifier that was very challenging to engineer," said David Robbins, chief executive officer (CEO) of Micronetics. "We have worked closely with IPWireless over the last few years to develop high-performance amplifier technology for this type of deployment and expect more demand for these amplifiers in the future." The order is scheduled to be delivered over a nine-month period starting in the fourth quarter of fiscal-year 2007.
