Hytera America announced a distribution partnership with Canadian mobile communications dealer Cartel Communication Systems to support the demands of the industrial and commercial communications industry in Canada.

With a focus on the needs of the Canadian wireless carriers, Cartel Communication Systems has developed a comprehensive line of quality solutions coupled with engineering and implementation support to those in public safety, transportation, utilities and other government agencies.

“Canadian channel partners will have the benefit of support from Hytera, as well as Cartel Communication Systems extensive national resources to ensure their own competitive advantage in the marketplace,” said Gary Lorenz, vice president of sales at Hytera America.

The establishment of this distribution partnership also allows for a “one face” approach to the unique dynamics of a marketplace spanning the world’s second largest country.

“Canada’s geography has been and always will be favorable to commercial radio technologies; our economy has a large resource component that relies on commercial radio as a business critical tool,” said Cartel Communication Systems Product Manager Dave Thuringer. “On Hytera, we saw a growing, future-looking technology company striving to build best-of-breed, open standard Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) and TETRA technologies and deliver it to value-driven service conscious end-users.”

This partnership combined with Hytera’s Latin American operations will extend Hytera’s brand presence from the Arctic Circle to the Straits of Magellan allowing users throughout the hemisphere. Hytera said it is one of the top three two-way radio manufacturers worldwide, actively involved in developing TETRA, DMR and Professional Digital Trunking (PDT).
