BNS Enterprises, an affiliate of S&P Communications, purchased A&B Communications, a two-way radio sales and service provider based in Corpus Christi, Texas. A&B Communications is an authorized Motorola Solutions and Kenwood two-way radio dealer servicing south Texas and the Coastal Bend.

Both companies specialize in turnkey installation and maintenance for mission-critical, operations critical and safety communications systems for petro-chemical, manufacturing, hospitality, construction, education, federal and local governments.

“A&B Communications has a tenured staff with a reputation for excellence in customer service,” said Brian Sherman, vice president of S&P Communications. “This acquisition considerably expands our SMR network supporting push-to-talk (PTT) dispatch for our customers throughout the rapidly growing south and west Texas oilfield regions. Furthermore, we anticipate offering new digital radio systems and rental radios to support a surging economy along the Gulf Coast.”

With more than 70 tower sites, A&B is one of the largest UHF PTT radio dispatch carriers in the state of Texas. This offers customers the most coverage of any two-way radio service provider in the state.

“This acquisition more than doubles the technical resources available to support our customers,” said Patrick Russell, general manager of A&B Communications. “A&B is very excited about increasing our technical support capacity and setting the pace for an unmatched quality of service available to Corpus Christi and surrounding markets.”

S&P Communications provides wireless communications services throughout central and south Texas. Founded in 1972, S&P offers point-to-point microwave, rental radios, FCC frequency advisory and licensing services, installation and service, financing packages and specialized commercial networking solution packages.
