The Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 requires the FCC to recover and auction T-band spectrum, currently in use by public-safety licensees, for commercial use by 2021. The T-band spectrum also includes private wireless and SMR licensees, but they are not addressed in the legislation.
