UHF T-Band Fact Sheet Available
Monday, March 02, 2015 | Comments

Safecom and the National Council of Statewide Interoperability Coordinators (NCSWIC) released a fact sheet on the UHF T-band giveback issue.

The Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 requires the FCC to recover and auction T-band spectrum, currently in use by public-safety licensees, for commercial use by 2021. The T-band spectrum also includes private wireless and SMR licensees, but they are not addressed in the legislation.

The sheet includes background on the law and a study on the implications to public safety. The fact sheet also includes details on FCC policy to date, grant guidance and an example T-band giveback transition timeline.

The fact sheet is available here.
