FirstNet Colorado Contracts Signals Analytics for Public-Safety Coverage Planning
Monday, June 29, 2015 | Comments

FirstNet Colorado selected Signals Analytics to provide public-safety broadband planning services to Colorado's stakeholders during the next 18 months. The contract includes support for First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) data collection deliverables related to coverage objectives, data usage and demand profiles, as well as additional coverage modeling work to plan for Colorado's portion of the future network.

Coverage objectives will be a critical input to FirstNet's overall network design and procurement strategy — identifying and prioritizing those areas of each county, tribe and the state where public safety requires wireless broadband capabilities.

FirstNet Colorado program staff will work closely with each county and tribe to understand where public-safety broadband coverage will be needed and how it can be deployed in a phased approach across Colorado's challenging topographies. Additionally, the state officials will contact every public-safety answering point (PSAP) to use CAD data as a means of validating the proposed coverage.

FirstNet Colorado program staff will coordinate outreach throughout the state in support of the coverage discussions.
