FirstNet Video Discusses Importance of Data Collection
Tuesday, July 21, 2015 | Comments

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) released a video on the data collection effort that is to be completed by Sept. 30 for the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP).

The video reviews the key elements of data collection and explains the importance to FirstNet and public-safety agencies at all levels of government. The video discusses data collection in states and tribal nations.

The second phase of SLIGP funding, announced in March and expected to total an additional $58 million following the first phase of $58 million, will allow states to collect data identifying and prioritizing where public-safety broadband coverage is needed, identifying potential users and their capacity needs, and detailing current providers and procurement mechanisms.

The FirstNet video is available here.
