David Mader joined the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) board of directors as the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) designee to the board. Mader replaces Geovette Washington, who took a position at the University of Pittsburgh.

Mader was nominated in May 2014 to serve as the controller for OMB. Prior to his current position, he was senior vice president of Booz Allen Hamilton.

The 15-member FirstNet board includes three permanent members from the federal government, including designees from the departments of Homeland Security and Justice, as well as OMB.

Washington will serve as the University of Pittsburgh’s senior vice chancellor and chief legal officer and as an officer of the university.
