Airbus Defence and Space to Build Terminal Repair Center in Beirut
Tuesday, September 08, 2015 | Comments

Airbus Defence and Space and local value-added reseller Serta Channels will build a certified TETRA terminal repair center in Beirut.

The plan is in line with the Ministry of Interior of Lebanon’s decision to award Airbus Defence and Space and Serta Channels a contract for a digital TETRA radio communications system for the General Directorate of General Security (GDGS), the country’s security forces, early this year. The proximity of the repair center will provide the GDGS’s terminal users with maintenance and repair services.

As part of the country’s ongoing modernization measures, the new system will replace existing analog networks. More than 3,000 subscribers of the government intelligence services will use the network.

The new TETRA network will enable security forces to carry out mission-critical communications across sensitive locations in Lebanon, such as airports, seaports and borders. The network will offer full coverage across the country.
