xG Technology appointed John Procacci as vice president of sales for its xMax and Integrated Microwave Technologies (IMT) business units. Procacci will have responsibility for leading the sales organization at xG Technology. The IMT and xG commercial sales team members will report directly to him. He will also work in concert with cross-functional teams that include marketing, product development, operations and support to design and deliver superior communications solutions to clients.

“We are pleased to welcome John Procacci to the xG Technology team,” said George Schmitt, CEO and board chairman of xG Technology. “His appointment will help further the traction we are gaining in the DoD/federal sector, and his record of developing strong client relationships will be a great advantage as we expand our presence in that space and pursue additional avenues of growth.”

“John has an exceptional record of successful sales and account development, and in building and inspiring teams,” said John Payne IV, president of IMT. “His expertise will be invaluable in helping accelerate the penetration of IMT’s market-leading solutions in key military, government and commercial markets.”

“I’m very excited to be part of xG Technology and look forward to helping both the xG and IMT teams reach enhanced levels of success by identifying and closing new revenue opportunities,” Procacci said. “The need for robust, resilient and secure broadband and video communications platforms is rising across numerous vertical markets, and this is where the xMax and IMT product lines have demonstrated impressive competitive advantages.”

Procacci brings more than 25 years of successful sales and business development experience representing technical product manufacturers, with 12 years focused on engineered products targeting Department of Defense (DoD) and federal program requirements. Most recently, he served as business development director at Mercury Systems, a leading commercial defense electronics company, where he drove growth across business lines by selling comprehensive solutions across the sensor processing chain.

Previously, he served as business development manager at IMT’s Military, Aerospace and Government (MAG) division. In that position he was responsible for new market penetration for digital video transmit/receive solutions, with a specific focus on DoD and government customers for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and covert surveillance applications. Prior to that, Procacci served as business development manager at Crane Aerospace and Electronics, where he spearheaded sales of microwave component and subsystem solutions to DoD prime contractors.

Procacci holds memberships in the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), Association of the United States Army (AUSA), Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).
