BodyWorn uses a smartphone embedded into the officer's uniform, ensuring the camera remains secure, does not become dislodged and always records the full scene in front of the officer. The system automatically uploads video content to a secure cloud storage system and does not require officers to manually plug in devices to a docking station back at the precinct.
The Colorado Springs Police Department also purchased 250 internet of things (IoT) devices, turning each patrol car into a mobile, Wi-Fi hot spot. This will enhance officers’ access to alerts, notifications, GPS mapping and other capabilities.
