Thursday, February 16, 2017 | Comments

Airbus Defence and Space will equip the 53rd Munich Security Conference with a secure professional mobile radio (PMR) network together with TETRA network operator Stadtwerke München.

A separate base station will be connected to the existing radio network of Stadtwerke München especially for this conference. This secure radio technology will enable mobile communications by security and conference staff as well as German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) personnel during the entire period of the conference, ensuring that they can efficiently perform their support tasks.

The radio system is enhanced with special encryption features. Stadtwerke München is making Airbus TETRA radios available to conference staff members.

The Munich Security Conference, initially launched in 1963, has become one of the most important conferences in the field of foreign and security policy. Each year, it provides high-ranking policymakers from all over the world with a forum for constructive discussions of current and future security challenges. Numerous guests from Germany and abroad are expected at the conference.
