Pai Nominated for Second Term on FCC
Thursday, March 09, 2017 | Comments

President Donald Trump nominated FCC Chairman Ajit Pai to a second term on the commission. Trump named Pai FCC chairman in January.

“I am deeply honored to have been nominated by President Trump to serve a second term on the FCC,” Pai said. “If I am fortunate to be confirmed by the Senate, I will continue to work with my colleagues to connect all Americans with digital opportunity, foster innovation, protect consumers, promote public safety, and make the FCC more open and transparent to the American people.”

Earlier this month, Trump withdrew the nomination of Jessica Rosenworcel for another term on the FCC. A full commission has four commissioners and the chairman. There are currently two commissioners, Republican Michael O’Rielly and Democrat Mignon Clyburn, with Pai, a Republican, as chairman. A Republican and Democrat still need to be named to the FCC.
