Public-safety agencies at the rodeo experienced reliable, high-speed access to the Harris County band 14 Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, even in poorly covered areas of the rodeo location at data rates greater than three times that of standard power equipment, an Assured Wireless statement said.
“Assured Wireless allowed us the opportunity to evaluate the benefits of an HPUE on our public-safety band 14 network in both mobile and fixed conditions," said Jim McMillan, senior manager of communications services at Harris County Public Safety Technology Services. “We found that using HPUE gave us additional range and coverage and also significantly increased our uplink speeds, especially in areas where standard power units provide only marginal data rates including in-building as well as rural.”
