Steve Souder, a nationally recognized leader and authority on 9-1-1, joined the RapidSOS advisory board.

Souder joins the board with more than 60 years of experience in the public-safety sector, 48 of which were spent in public-safety communications.

During his career, Souder was director of three 9-1-1 centers in the National Capital Region. While at Fairfax County 9-1-1, Souder adopted new 9-1-1 technology, including text to 9-1-1 capabilities and next-generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) equipment. Throughout the years, Souder has also been active in many public-safety organizations and associations and was chair of the FCC Task Force on Optimal PSAP Architecture.

“It is an honor to welcome a true industry veteran onto our advisory board,” said Michael Martin, RapidSOS CEO. “Steve’s experience in public-safety communications and with 9-1-1 technology is essential to us as we work to transform the data available to our nation’s public safety telecommunicators and first responders.”
