FCC Reminds 9-1-1 Providers to File Annual Reliability Certifications
Thursday, August 10, 2017 | Comments

The FCC announced that the 9-1-1 Reliability Certification System is open for filing annual reliability certifications, which are due Oct. 15, 2017. Covered 9-1-1 service providers should file certifications using the commission’s online portal at https://apps2.fcc.gov/rcs911/.

Covered 9-1-1 service providers are required to take reasonable measures to provide reliable 9-1-1 service with respect to three substantive certification requirements: 9-1-1 circuit diversity, central office backup power and diverse network monitoring. The providers must annually certify compliance with each of the three substantive certification requirements or alternative measures.

The full public notice is here.
