Kurdistan Airport Deploys DAMM Outdoor Base Station
Thursday, August 17, 2017 | Comments

Erbil International Airport (EIA), the principle airport serving the city of Erbil in Kurdistan autonomous region in northern Iraq, selected a communications solution from DAMM Cellular Systems.

The BS421 outdoor base station provides a fully redundant communications system, serving both the EIA and airline customers. Local DAMM system partner Sabaaco installed the solution in collaboration with DAMM.

“The easiness of integration with the existing TETRA system saves both time and costs,” said Mustafa Al Mukhtar, deputy CEO of Sabaaco. “With fast setup and installation time, the space-saving compact outdoor base station provides low capital expenditures. In addition, operational expenses are also saved as minimal air conditioning is required due to the power efficiency.”

Erbil International Airport is one of two international airports in the Kurdistan region and is served by airlines from across the Middle East and Europe.
