Huawei Announces 100 eLTE Alliance Members

Huawei announced there are now more than 100 eLTE alliance members and the company launched new solutions for public safety and power industries.

The eLTE Industry Alliance announced 16 new members. eLTE, a private network Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, is used mainly in the public security sector but is expanding to smart city, smart grid and smart campus applications.

The alliance launched new eLTE solutions for government affairs, smart city and smart campus applications, and partners shared various eLTE-based new applications, terminals and practices. The alliance also introduced a new unlicensed development package, which supports internet of things (IoT) terminal developers.

Huawei launched three enterprise wireless focused joint innovation centers in the Netherlands, Italy and Germany.

Separately, Hexagon received the best developer partner award and the business win-win award from Huawei.

“To solve a challenge as great as urban safety and security requires a strong partnership between suppliers of mission-critical technologies,” said Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén. “Hexagon is honored to receive recognition for the progress we have made to provide cities with the technologies they need to become safer and more resilient.”
