Intracom Telecom announced that it is working on a project to supply its 26 GHz technology to ProRail, the national Netherlands railway infrastructure operator, with a network of about 3,000 kilometers as backhaul to closed circuit TV (CCTV) and security/surveillance assets at the railway stations.

More specifically, Intracom Telecom partnered with WiFi4ALL, a Netherlands-based broadband integrator and wireless internet service provider (WISP), to supply, for the first phase of the project, 21 hubs and 78 terminals. WiFi4ALL undertook all the engineering, placement and configuration while Intracom Telecom performed the RF planning and supplied the equipment, which for the first stage, was installed at 16 railway stations throughout the country, from Groningen to Maastricht.

A CCTV solution incorporating Intracom Telecom's wireless transmission equipment, StreetNode, which is used to connect hundreds of IP cameras, was installed. The units relay all the collected video, data and alarm signals from the CCTV cameras to each of the station control rooms preserving HD picture quality at all times.

Intracom Telecom's solution for ProRail's network includes point-to-point and point-to-multipoint software-defined radios (SDRs) that allow for quick installation, highly reliable, massive capacity for high-quality HD video surveillance for smart cities, border and perimeter security, CCTV for railways, airport security and more.
