Agard is global public safety and defense segment leader at Nokia. He leads a team that develops the Nokia business in this segment globally through direct customer engagements. Agard represents the newly formed TCCA Broadband Industry Group (BIG).
Toivonen, representing the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP), is spectrum and technology strategy manager at the U.K. Home Office. He is an experienced telecommunications professional who has for more than 15 years focused on delivering mission critical communications, first at Nokia before moving to deliver the Airwave system and the future Emergency Services Network (ESN) in Great Britain. During these years Ari has provided strategic and technical guidance on various aspects of the mission-critical communications landscape including security, functionality, technology road map, user requirements and spectrum needs.
Agard and Toivonen fill two board vacancies, and the new board members will be up for re-election in May 2018. The new members will join current board members Ali Helenius with Airbus Defence and Space; Dr. Barbara Held, with Germany’s BDBOS; Francesco Pasquali with Leonardo; Jeppe Jepsen with Motorola Solutions; Malcolm Quelch, who works for Sepura; and Tero Pesonen, an independent consultant. Mladen Vratonjic is the TCCA chairman.
Tony Gray recently took over as CEO of TCCA, which is focused on several new broadband initiatives.
