Peru City Deploys TETRA Network from Hytera Mobilfunk
Friday, October 06, 2017 | Comments

Hytera Mobilfunk in cooperation with its distributor Nexus Technology and Tactical IT deployed a TETRA network for the city guards of the provincial municipality of Puno in Peru.

The city of Puno is the capital of the province and department of Puno and is located in southeastern Peru on the shore of Lake Titicaca, at an altitude of more than 3,800 meters above sea level. One of its largest attractions is the Uros Floating Islands. This and its proximity to the Bolivian border means that it is a regular stop on the South American tourist trail.

To modernize and enhance public safety and emergency services across the city, Tactical IT, working with Nexus Technology and Hytera Mobilfunk, was awarded a contract to deliver a turnkey video surveillance and mission-critical radio communications system based on TETRA technology.

The network comprises the Hytera outdoor TETRA base station launched earlier this year, a distributed network administration center, a command-and-control center equipped with AVL and dispatcher consoles, and portable and mobile radios.
