The Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) issued a request for proposals (RFP) from qualified contractors to offer a no-cost statewide 700 MHz broadband system. This system will include a statewide Long Term Evolution (LTE) radio access network (RAN) that will be interoperable with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) nationwide network.

The RAN will be required to operate and conform to any and all guidelines and requirements established by the FCC, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and/or FirstNet, while serving any and all Connecticut urban, suburban and rural areas, the RFP said.

Responses are due Nov. 9, with proposer questions due Oct. 18. The RFP is here.
