From 28 – 30 November PMRExpo will offer numerous talks covering topics such as cybercrime, new professional mobile radio (PMR) applications, broadband services, alarm and warning systems, campus solutions, IT security and improving network stability. Speakers include industry representatives as well as operators and public agencies.

In the opening address, TCCA Chairman Tony Gray will offer the latest trends and ongoing developments in critical communications. An equally current and significant topic is cybersecurity. Dr. Christian Eibl from the German Federal Office for Information Security will present the state of cyber threats at the conference.

All operators of critical infrastructure must introduce an information security management system (ISMS) by the end of January 2018. Security also plays an important role in the transfer of data. The same applies to the protection of PMR networks. One presentation will overview cybersecurity of PMR networks with a case example from LEAG Cottbus.

Broadband presents a variety of challenges that will be addressed in a talk on PMR broadband communications from a user’s viewpoint by Harald Ludwig of TCCA.

Andreas Gegenfurtner, president of the German Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS), will open the second day with a field report from the security organization’s viewpoint. The subject of alerting and notification will also be covered.
