Monday, October 16, 2017 | Comments

Avtec named board member Arjen Maarleveld the company president. The appointment came after former president Kevin Williams announced his decision to step down to start a business venture. To ensure a smooth transition, Williams will remain with Avtec until mid-2018.

Maarleveld will have responsibility for sales, marketing, business development, engineering, product management, customer support, and professional services. He has served on the Avtec board of advisors for the past three years.

His professional career spans technical, business development and operations functions. He served in leadership positions for various high-tech companies in Europe, Silicon Valley and New Zealand, including Oracle, Apple, Telecom New Zealand, Alcatel, France Telecom and Esko.

Most recently, he held the CEO position at Vega, a provider of high-performance navigational aids. Prior to joining Vega, he was the chief operating officer (COO) for Tait Communications.
