During the October board meeting, current board member Joe Marx, assistant vice president, federal regulatory, AT&T, was elected chair of the board, and Thompson was elected as vice chair.

“The institute is fortunate that it will continue to benefit from the vision and leadership of our existing board members, and we are delighted to welcome five new board members whose varying experiences and expertise will add new perspectives and strengthen the leadership of the Board,” said Institute Executive Director Patrick Halley.

The NG911 Institute works with the Congressional Next Generation 911 Caucus to promote nationwide next-generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) deployment through congressionally focused education and awareness efforts. The NextGen 911 Caucus is co-chaired by Sens. Richard Burr and Amy Klobuchar and Reps. John Shimkus and Anna Eshoo.
