FCC Seeks Comment on Spectrum Policy, Interference Recommendations
Monday, December 04, 2017 | Comments

The FCC is seeking comment on spectrum policy recommendations from its Technological Advisory Council (TAC). Many of the recommendations relate to interference and interference responsibilities and regulatory actions.

Among other items, the recommendations propose more precisely defining interference, establishing interference limits and analyzing interference as a two-directional issue, including account receiver performance and the design of the “victim” system, as well as the operation of the alleged interferer.

The TAC also recommended that operators should expect and plan for occasional service degradation or interruption, and the commission should not base its rules on exceptional events.

Comments are due Jan. 31, and reply comments are due Feb. 15. The full public notice is here.
