Guangzhou City Chooses Airbus TETRA Network for Go-for-Metro Project
Friday, December 08, 2017 | Comments

Airbus was selected to supply further secure communications equipment for a new project called go-for-metro in Guangzhou, China. Go-for-metro, composed of two phases, consists of securing the Guangzhou suburb and rural metro lines.

Phase one of the project fully secured nine new metro lines with the installation of a TETRA server and base stations in 2016. Airbus won the bid for phase two of the project to secure 10 existing operational metro lines, and will provide a TETRA server and base stations, as well as more than 3,000 terminals.

The go-for-metro project will make the Guangzhou Government Shared Network the second-biggest TETRA network in Asia, just after the Beijing Government Shared Network, also provided by Airbus. The Guangzhou network will provide smooth communications in both on-ground and underground areas for more than 45,000 subscribers from government authorities.
