FirstNet Opt-Out Notice for 3 U.S. Territories Due March 12
Friday, December 15, 2017 | Comments

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) notified the territories of American Samoa, Guam and Northern Mariana Islands Dec. 12 of their plans for the nationwide public-safety broadband network (NPSBN), commencing the 90-day clock for an opt-out or in decision by the governors of the territories.

The territories must notify the FCC by March 12 if they are opting out of the FirstNet network.

FirsNet delivered draft plans to the territories in October. With the final plan delivery, the three territories will be about 2.5 months behind the rest of the U.S. states and territories with their opt-in or out decisions, which are due Dec. 28.

The FCC’s public notice is here.
