Diga-Talk Announces Nationwide PTT Service
Friday, December 22, 2017 | Comments

Chicago-based digital SMR operator Diga-Talk announced a nationwide push-to-talk (PTT) service. Diga-Talk+ enables users to communicate cross country if needed, using the same two-way radio form factor as they use for local service.

Leveraging the power and stability of the nation's largest data carriers, Diga-Talk+ will keep users in contact with their fleets and offer flexibility, a statement said. The new national coverage combines instant PTT access at a low cost.

Equipment is priced lower than traditional, limited-range radios, the company said. Two different units can be configured with both group and private capabilities — one in vehicle and the other a handheld portable unit.

The service can be used for school buses, restaurants, ambulances, hotels, sporting and outdoor events, towing companies, security and concerts.

The NXDN-based network expanded in 2015 after launching service in 2009.
