The Technology Resource Network Interoperability (TRNI) board of directors announced it will close TRNI and form a new, unincorporated market council within Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) dedicated to implementing educational, training and certification programs to promote and enhance the wireless industry.

The TRNI board of directors will serve as the initial board of trustees of the new market council. The initial organizational meeting of the council will convene in conjunction with EWA's Executive Committee meeting in mid-January.

The council will manage the remaining TRNI assets, a significant percentage of which will be dedicated to providing educational grants in David Robison's name. With the termination of TRNI activities, members will continue to be EWA members with dues contributions remitted in accordance with EWA's dues schedule.

Founded in 1998,TRNI is an association of more than 150 locally owned, authorized Motorola Solutions service and certified service centers. The group approved a name change from U.S. Motorola Service Station (USMSS) to TRNI in 2014.

“There are obviously a number of administrative details to be addressed, but the board of directors is convinced that this approach maintains the spirit of USMSS' original founders and will serve to support USMSS/TRNI's faithful members in the years to come,” an email said.

TRNI CEO Bill Dow left the group last October and is now a sales director at Westell Technologies, according to LinkedIn.
