NetMotion Touts Public-Safety Software Adoption

NetMotion Software said its software is deployed by more than 80 percent of state law enforcement agencies and 70 percent of the nation’s largest local police and sheriff departments, such as the Los Angeles Police Department, based on the number of sworn officers.

These agencies have deployed the firm’s security, performance and analytics products to more than 500,000 first responders in all 50 states to overcome mobile challenges and give IT insights into their field deployments.

“It’s an inconvenience when any of our officers have to spend time establishing a connection or are forced to reconnect suddenly to their mobile applications,” said Lt. Dan Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Police Department. “We wanted our officers to be able to open their laptops from anywhere in the city, be connected and access what they need right when they need it. Mobility met this requirement for us, providing first responders with an always-on connection and seamless roaming between broadband and Wi-Fi networks. It gives our officers the uninterrupted access to the mobile resources needed to serve and protect our community.”
