Hytera Mobilfunk Sucursal del Perú has won the largest international public radio TETRA tender awarded to date in Peru, signing the contract in January to supply 8,203 TETRA radios to the Peruvian Ministry of Interior.

“Hytera’s commitment with the Peruvian government to improve public safety in Peru has been reinforced with this new contract award,” said Luis Perez, head of Hytera Perú. “Our local team are proud to be part of the modernization process for public-safety radio communications, which will ultimately benefit Peruvian citizens and tourists.”

The scope of supply includes 6,459 Hytera TETRA handheld radios, 1,714 mobile radios and 30 fixed radio stations. In addition, Hytera will develop a customized application interface for the police in Peru, which will allow officers to query data directly from the radio, interacting with police databases.

As part of the contract, the project includes three years of after service support. Hytera will invest in the local regional technological competence center, located in Lima, to modernize and improve the after-sales support offered to the 18,500 Hytera TETRA radio users in Perú.
