Great River Energy Deploys Point to Multipoint from MiMOMax Wireless

Great River Energy of Maple Grove, Minnesota, began a point-to-multipoint communications project using MiMOMax Wireless radios to support its supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) network.

Running a range of critical applications across the network, Great River Energy required a resilient, scalable solution for visibility of 4,700 miles of transmission line.

With 700 MHz upper A block spectrum being both scarce and valuable, the challenge for Great River Energy was to maximize data throughput while improving reliability in a narrowband channel. Using multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technology, offering low latency and providing a range of specialized antennas, the solution optimizes data throughput and allows for rapid control and feedback on the state of the network.

Headquartered in New Zealand, MiMOMax Wireless opened a U.S. office in Phoenix to provide support and sales closer to its North American customer base.
