EF Johnson to Supply P25 Network in DeKalb County, Illinois
Monday, March 05, 2018 | Comments

DeKalb County, Illinois, selected Project (P25) technology from EF Johnson Technologies to replace its 25-year-old analog radio system.

The county operated an assortment of analog systems, causing interoperability issues between first responders. The new system will unify first responders and provide countywide coverage with four sites, six channels and a Zetron console system.

“We chose ATLAS because it has no single point of failure, unlike traditional LMR systems which have one vulnerable central core,” said Andy Sullivan, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office chief deputy. “The system will withstand the most extreme conditions giving us peace of mind."
