Montana PSAP Deploys New Solacom Call-Handling Technology
Tuesday, March 27, 2018 | Comments

The public-safety answering point (PSAP) for Lincoln County, Montana, selected Frontier Communications and Solacom to replace its aging 9-1-1 call-handling system. Lincoln County is now equipped with features needed for next-generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) emergency call handling.

“Our old system was quickly becoming outdated. We needed to be next-gen ready and wanted a system that would bring us into the 21st century,” said Ernie Anderson, Lincoln County’s IT director. “We’ll soon be able to add text to 9-1-1. And we now have local tech support — that is a huge plus for us.”

The two-position PSAP at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in Libby, Montana, can now transfer calls to and from Lincoln County’s two other PSAPs in Eureka and Troy with the touch of a button.
