Mobile One Australia Ceases Operations, Rojone Buys Product Lines

Mobile One Australia announced that it ceased trading as of 1 April. Australia-based Rojone purchased the manufacturing and distribution of Mobile One antennas, headsets and Nexus products.

Rojone acquired the manufacturing rights and equipment from Mobile One and Mobile One Acoustics last year, but Rojone did not purchase the Mobile One name or the company, said John Brady, Rojone general manager.
"Rojone has been manufacturing antennas in Australia for over 30 years, and the acquisition of the Mobile One (M1) range further strengthens our product offering to our customers," Brady said.

Company executives recognize there are some competing or duplicate products, and Rojone is undergoing an in-house product review to determine the most suitable product to meet its customer needs.

"As part of this review process, we are also looking at the design of each antenna, to see if we have an opportunity to merge the best of each design into one new antenna design," Brady said.  "As you can appreciate this process is a lengthy a process, and Rojone is yet to have a confirmed date when this review will be completed."

Additionally, Rojone also acquired the rights to manufacture Mobile One’s range of high-noise headsets. "The design for these will remain unchanged," he said. "However, Rojone is looking at expanding the range to include Bluetooth connectivity and enhanced soundproofing."
