First Release Candidate of NIEM Version 4.1 Available Now
Friday, June 01, 2018 | Comments

National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) version 4.1 release candidate 1 (RC1) is now available for review and comment. Feedback is due June 8.

This is the final stage before the NIEM Program Management Office officially publishes NIEM version 4.1. At this point in the release cycle, the office is looking to address errors and bugs only.

A series of release candidates (e.g., RC1, RC2, RC3) will be generated, tested, reviewed and tweaked until the product is a quality release. This stage progresses quickly because reviews are short and refinements are very minor. Larger issues will be held for the next release.

The final release of NIEM 4.1 is projected for the late-June/mid-July timeframe. At that time, 4.1 schemas and documentation will be published along with updates to the tooling.

Find NIEM version 4.1 RC1 on Github here. Feedback can be sent to or post as an issue on the NIEM Releases GitHub repository.
