Motorola Solutions and Panasonic are two of the companies participating in the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) dealer program announced this week.

Motorola Solutions said it is a master dealer to AT&T, selling FirstNet subscriptions, as well as providing the push-to-talk (PTT) solution, LMR-to-FirstNet interoperability solutions and devices such as the LEX L11.

“Motorola Solutions also provides an end-to-end suite of software solutions that work together seamlessly to improve command center operations from the time a 9-1-1 call is placed to after an incident is resolved,” the company said in response to questions about its participation.

Motorola was one of four companies, along with General Dynamics, Inmarsat Government and Sapient Consulting, named in FirstNet’s contract with AT&T.

Panasonic also announced that it joined the FirstNet Dealer Program through the AT&T Alliance Channel. As a FirstNet dealer, Panasonic can now sell FirstNet services to current and future public-safety customers.

“The FirstNet Dealer Program is a major milestone along the road to providing first responders and other FirstNet eligible organizations with highly reliable equipment and tools, enabling them to serve their communities when called upon in the face of an emergency or crisis,” said Brian Rowley, vice president of marketing and product management, Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America. “Panasonic is proud to join the FirstNet Dealer Program and ensure that those we rely on to protect our communities have access to the critical communications tools they need. As existing and future customers make the transition to FirstNet, Panasonic will be there to support the FirstNet mission.”

In coordination with FirstNet Authority, AT&T regulates which indirect sellers are approved to promote, market and co-sell FirstNet. Panasonic was selected for its focus on mobility solutions for public-safety agencies.

An AT&T spokeswoman said there are not different levels within the dealer program, and both companies have the same ability to co-sell FirstNet service.
