The Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies (iCERT) appointed Kim Robert Scovill as the organization’s new executive director. Scovill succeeds iCERT’s previous executive director, George Rice.

iCERT is a trade association representing the commercial technology service provider and carrier sector of the emergency response/public-safety field.

“After an extended national search, we’re exceptionally pleased that Kim has taken on this leadership role,” said Ellen O’Hara, chairman of the board. “Kim has broad experience with public-safety technology providers, is knowledgeable about both legal and regulatory issues, has spent years walking the halls of Capitol Hill in the trade association arena, and has served on iCERT’s board of directors. The board was impressed with Kim’s passion and commitment to our cause. His breadth of knowledge and innovative approaches will enable him to expand our member value proposition and guide iCERT into our next phase of growth and influence.”

Scovill was most recently vice president – legal and regulatory for Comtech Telecommunications Safety and Security Division, where he led Comtech’s national public-safety regulatory operations. He previously served as the executive director of the NG9-1-1 Institute and as vice president with West Safety Services.
