Zetron Golf Event Raises $35,000 for Public-Safety Foundation

Zetron’s annual Shoot for the Stars charity golf tournament and auction raised more than $35,000 for the Behind the Badge Foundation, an organization that supports Washington state’s law enforcement agencies, families and communities following a line-of-duty death or when an officer suffers a serious injury.

The eighth annual event hosted by Zetron was held at The Golf Club at Newcastle, in Newcastle, Washington, August 21. David Rose of Q13 FOX News and host of “Washington’s Most Wanted” television show emceed the event. The public-safety charity golf tournament draws participation from both public sector and business leaders, as well as numerous Seattle-area celebrities, including former Seahawks Nesby Glasgow and Alonzo Mitz and SuperSonics legend Slick Watts.

“Zetron’s mission-critical communications business intrinsically enables us to grow very close to the vital public-safety organizations, communities and first responders our technology serves,” said Brent Dippie, Zetron president and CEO. “Shoot for the Stars has grown into a real passion for our team and a great way for us to continue to give back to the officers, agencies and families that sacrifice so much to serve us all.”

The event has raised nearly $200,000 for the Behind the Badge Foundation since the annual event began, setting a new single event fundraising record in 2018.

“Zetron has become a valuable and unwavering partner to the Behind the Badge Foundation and our mission,” said Vicky Stormo, executive director for the Behind the Badge Foundation. “This year’s record-setting Shoot for the Stars was especially exceptional considering a burglary on the eve of the event left us without many of the supplies, as well as auction and raffle items that make the event possible. But the Zetron volunteer team adapted, improvised and persevered to put on our best event yet.”
