The Bay Area Regional Interoperable Communications System Authority (BayRICS) board of directors selected Corey Reynolds as the joint powers authority’s (JPA) new general manager.

Reynolds replaces Barry Fraser, who has served as the authority’s general manager since May 2013. Fraser will continue as a consultant to the authority through the fall to support the transition.

Reynolds joins BayRICS after working as the interoperable communications project manager at the Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI). He has more than 10 years of experience in public-safety communications governance and policy, beginning his career providing program management support to the Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) program in Boulder, Colorado.

The BayRICS Authority is a 12-member JPA representing the San Francisco Bay Area. BayRICS promotes regional communications interoperability and is responsible for planning, policy and oversight of regional public-safety communications projects. BayRICS members include the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Sonoma, as well as the city and county of San Francisco, city of Oakland and city of San Jose.
