BearCom Group continued its North American buying spree, snapping up three more dealer businesses, one in Canada and two in the United States.

In Canada, BearCom purchased Turris Communications, a subsidiary of Turris Group in partnership with Red Jasper Capital. Turris Communications has offices in Burnaby, British Columbia; Calgary, Edmonton, and Medicine Hat, Alberta; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Woodstock, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston, Ottawa, and Cornwall, Ontario; and Gatineau, Quebec.

With 12 service centers across Canada, the 40-year-old Turris has advanced technical service staff focused on serving the mining, oil and gas, public safety and utilities industries. This transaction does not include any of the other entities of the Turris Group of companies, nor the tower sites or 2WayHub business.

Turris Communications is BearCom’s fifth acquisition in Canada, following Communications Group, Mobile Business Communications, Vector Communications and Spectrum Communications. With this acquisition, BearCom extends to 24 locations across Canada to serve customers.

Separately, BearCom acquired Teltronic in Beltsville, Maryland, which delivers wireless solutions and services throughout the Maryland, Virginia and Mid-Atlantic region.

For more than 57 years, Teltronic has offered the latest in communications, wireless technology to customers. Teltronic has vertical expertise in public safety/law enforcement, retail, manufacturing and a variety of other commercial businesses.

“Teltronic has a rich history of offering Motorola Solutions equipment and services,” said Mark Kroh, CEO of BearCom. “In addition, their team understands how digital communications complement the robust information technology environment. Combining the unique expertise Teltronic offers with BearCom’s core strengths, allows us to deliver broader and more innovative solutions throughout the National Capital Region.

The company also purchased TBA Communications in Tampa, Florida, which has been in business since 1991. TBA specializes in selling, renting and servicing wireless communications solutions with a heavy focus on MOTOTRBO two-way radios and APX public-safety systems from Motorola Solutions.

The company also owns and manages local towers that provide wide-area coverage throughout the Tampa area. This extended range delivers an ideal solution for customers needing citywide or countywide coverage, such as highly mobile service and transportation companies, as well as events held in multiple venues throughout the area.

TBA serves customers in manufacturing, energy, petrochemical, hospitality/entertainment, public safety, schools, and other public, commercial, and industrial sectors. The company operates across the counties of Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Manatee.

“With established BearCom locations in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, the talented team at TBA adds resources and synergies that allow us to offer more solutions and serve more customers throughout Florida,” Kroh said.

Terms of the transactions were not announced.
