Monday, October 08, 2018 | Comments

The city of Bridgeport, Connecticut, contracted Federal Engineering to assess its existing radio system and determine the best approach to meet the future needs of its first responders.

Bridgeport is the largest municipality in the state with about 16 square miles and a population of 145,000. Bridgeport operates a digital VHF radio system, which provides service to the Bridgeport Police Department and Bridgeport Fire Department, along with the Department of Public Works, Recreation and Emergency Management.

The city’s LMR system was purchased in 2009 and became operational in early 2010. Federal Engineering will review the current system and user needs and then evaluate and recommend future options.
