Swiss Technological University Selects Damm TETRA Network

ErvoCom selected Damm Cellular Systems TETRA infrastructure as part of its security communications solution to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich). Apart from reliability, key factors for choosing the system were the flexibility and scalability combined with the open application programming interface (API), which allows easy integration of customized applications and external devices.

Damm will deliver 11 outdoor base stations to supply security communications in three campus areas using its TetraFlex network. The open API will include partner-developed solutions including a dispatcher, in-house positioning, surveillance and several alarm transmission features.

ErvoCom, a new strategic Damm partner, will deliver the network and supply its own security guard radio system and dispatcher workstation. ETH Zurich will receive a system tailored to its needs.

“For Europe’s leading technological university to choose a TETRA solution proves once again that this is a future-proof technology, which continues to deliver reliable, high-tech critical communications solutions,” said Torben Østerby, key account manager at Damm.

This is the first joint project between Damm and ErvoCom, a partnership that will also focus on the transportation market globally.
