BearCom Buys 2 Colorado Two-Way Radio Dealers

BearCom Group acquired two Colorado mobile communications business, Wireless Advanced Communications (WAC) and QDS Communications. Terms of the transactions were not announced.

WAC has been in business since 1995 and serves Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. QDS Communications, located in Grand Junction, has been serving the Western Slope of Colorado for the past 14 years. Combining resources with BearCom’s existing office in Denver enables the company to offer added capabilities throughout the state and beyond, a statement said.

Both companies specialize in designing and implementing public-safety and private commercial wireless communications systems as channel partners and manufacturer representatives for Motorola Solutions. End-to-end solutions include professional series two-way radios, Project 25 (P25) systems, trunking, in-building signal boosters, dispatch consoles, P56 installations, tower work, broadband and microwave solutions. WAC’s Public Safety Division outfits more than 1,500 new vehicles and services more than 5,000 vehicles annually, and the company specializes in video camera surveillance solutions. Key differentiators in the QDS portfolio include interoperable school safety communications systems and voice recording capabilities for customers requiring documentation of radio and telecom conversations.
