France’s PCSTORM public-safety broadband project awarded a contract for Lot 1 for tactical networks and terminals to Athonet.

Earlier this year, PCSTORM awarded additional contracts for the project. French operator Orange will offer the radio access network (RAN) with priority and pre-emption features and backup using other French nationwide mobile networks. Streamwide won the lot four applications and security contract and will supply mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT) technology. Gemalto was contracted to provide subscriber identity modules (SIM)s for the network, said an MoI official.
